Dash Dials are spotty - damp? W126 from US

Hi,

I've seen many a merc dashboard - and a lot of them in extremely wet cars.

I can't remember seeing these white freckles before.

There are three cars for sale from a bloke in Pennsylvania, one of them is a Florida car and that's the one with a normal dash, the other two are local and have the freckles.

I'm answering my own question here, I think!

Anyway, here's the image - good oil for the tick-over at running temp at those miles! Click to enlarge.

It looks a bit like salt deposits or maybe hard water deposits dried out.

Thanks for that. Hard water condensation spots could be the answer, nice one!
I read some horror stories about the US Rust-belt last night. I won't be buying from that neck of the woods.
