Dash display W215

When trying to check oil level through the on dash display what does
"Perf. Serv. On Time" mean ???

The car is not due a service but will no longer measure the oil level because this message keeps appearing!!??!!

By the way the engine is not running but ignition is turned on. My local dealer said you had to have the engine off for a period of time (1/2 hour) before trying to check the level.

Sorry, just found the answer in another thread !!

Better to check the oil level before starting the car in the morning i guess. Dealer was correct but the car certainly needs to have been switched off for much longer than 1/2 hour.


Very odd message wording though....
