Hi All,

I have been using my E220 to get to work each day and it's parked outside all day.

These dashboards are notorious for cracking and whilst mine still has no cracks in it, I'm anxious to make sure that it stays that way.

To that end I ordered and just received a dash mat. The kit came with Velcro adhesive tape which needs to be stuck to the dashboard but I'm reluctant to stick anything to my unblemished dashboard. Surely that's as bad as having cracks?

So my question is how do I secure my dash mat without sticking something to my lovely dashboad? Has anybody come up with a work around?

what does the kit look like? any pics or links? is it weighted enough to sit on the dash without having to permantly fix it in place?

The Dash Mat should stay firm without anything else holding it, otherwise its not doing the job properly. I would recommend buying a different Mat.

After thinking about it for a couple of days, I think I've figured out a solution.

I plan to thread fishing line through the speaker grilles and use a needle to thread it through the dash mat and tie it down on both sides.

That should sort it out and it won't leave any marks for if/when I want to take remove it.

What about some of that non slip mat strategically placed under it

Thanks for the non slip mat idea. As it happens, I had a roll of the stuff in the garage, left over from the last time I wanted something to stay put on a dashboard - would you believe?

I just cut two generous rectangles and placed them strategically on the dash and it looks like that's all it needs!
