Hi all
The requested production date for my W205 C200 was earlier this week and I've just got the VIN and engine number so I assume it was built on schedule or is just about to be built in South Africa. However, entering the VIN on this site: Checking VIN for Mercedes-Benz | CARInfo gives a check sum error. I wondered if anyone else could see if they can get the data card for VIN WDD2050422R071548
Also for others with cars on order I believe entering the VIN into the cargo ID field here: https://www.2wglobal.com/webapps?ur...cean.do?method=getDefaultOceanQuickSearchPage should, when the car is being shipped, give detailed location data for the ship. This site is for Wallenius Wilhelmsen which apparently is the carrier that Mercedes often uses. However, if another carrier is used I understand the name of the ship should be available to the supplying dealer and using the ship’s name internet sites such as www.vesseltracker.com www.vesselfinder.com and www.fleetmon.com can be used to access tracking information. The ships are tracked via Automatic Identification System (AIS) and ground repeaters except when they’re out of range for a few days in the middle of large oceans.
Many thanks
