2017 MERCEDES GLC 250D, DRL’s don’t work for some reason. No clue why, can anyone suggest why?

Can you switch these on via the dash menus?

Unfortunately, no. Is it a thing with UK cars not having the option to turn them on/off? It’s strange that they don’t come on at all

Have they ever worked, then stopped? Or did you just buy a second hand car and noticed that the DRLs are not working?

It may be my memory playing up, but I'm sure on my S204 you could switch them off in the lighting settings menu.

No, they worked, noticed that they still come on during vehicle lock and unlock at night, but don’t come on at all during the day when lights are on auto. There’s no option to switch them on or off via dash menu either even though manual says there should be.

We have a 2015 E Class and a 2017 GLA I have looked and both are the same in this respect so surely your GLC should be?
Using the steering wheel controls get to the first menu , selecting "Light" brings up options one of which is "Day lights". Swith on & off with OK

Hi Keith, my GLC doesn’t have a lights menu option on the steering wheel controls. It’s the strangest thing. I know they’re supposed to come on automatically but they just don’t. I don’t know if it’s a fuse thing or not as I had a battery change recently. However, no designation in fuse manual for the DRL’s. I’m trying everything to avoid trip to dealer as diagnostic alone is over £200. Car doesn’t show any errors with lights either. Just to clarify, car 100% has DRL’s as they worked before, they just don’t now. I wonder if the low battery in the past played a part in the malfunction. Thanks for reading

No fuse on mine designated to DRL's.
It might have been here I got the info, but I tapped into the DRL outputs on the SAM as I wanted rear DRL's.
I saw too many bods with no rear lights thinking they had lights on. Didn't want to get caught out like that.

Yours might be a SAM issue?
Maybe Star could turn 'em back on again. But if there is no option on the dash I would assume they are designed to be on by default.

This for me would definitely not be a visit to a MB main dealer. There are many MB specialists throughout the country who charge about half the labour rate of a main dealer and IMO do a better job. Being small they are more accountable to the customer. Many of them will have the MB "Star" computor and can also input service work onto the MB system
Your profile just says "England" but if we know where you are there will be members on here who can advise of a specialist local to you
