dead clock segment

Hi all,

after picking up my clk 320 yesterday, and congratulating myself on buying a fault free car (sure you can all guess whats coming ) about 10 miles down the road, two segments of one of the clock display dissapeared

now it doesn't really matter as i have a clock on the stereo...but it just annoys me

any way to fix, or is it a case of look out for a s/h binnnacle (i saw there is a company on ebay doing rebuilds - anyone any experience)

have got out the soldering iron - will let you know how it goes....

figure if i have to pay for a rebuild, then no harm in having a crack first

dont touch it with a solder iron, there are replacement ribbons available on ebay to fix this common fault. I have done 3 of these now and takes between 1 hour and 3 hours, depending how many times you have to run back to your car to test
