Hi what is your local merc dealer charging for a set of replacement plates?

whatever, get them from Design and order reflective acrylic licence number plates in any style you like and your own spacing if you want. I doubt plates will be cheap from a dealer..............

Provided the lettering style, size, colour and spacing, and the plate size and background colour, are correct, metal plates are legal. The problem arises with old-style silver on black metal plates, which are not legal on cars registered after a certain date.

£25 from MB Poole. However, this was included in an overall negotiated price for a new car. They've also provided me with some temporary plates (for free) for my current car in order for me to put my cherished plate on retention for new car.
