Hi all
Whilst the LR forums I am a member of are a mine of information, there isn't much info on aftermarket head unit solutions.
Basically, I have just bought a quite tidy Discovery 2 TD5 ES which comes with the standard head unit, steering wheel control, underseat 6 disc multiplayer and Harman Kardon speakers (and amp?).
Sound quality is good and everything works well, the unit is quite unobtrusive.
ME being me I would lik to upgrade to mp3/ipod, bluetooth (needs to be good as she's a noisy old bus), and possibly satnav. Am not particularly technical but I know I hate loads of wires everywhere. That said I don't have much of a budget.
Anyone into this sort of stuff who knows what inclusive units are in the marketplace right now? I know we're a knowledgeable lot over here :) of course if you have anything.... shout....

TIA

There are plenty of aftermarket units but your going to have the same problem as you would have in a Mercedes with HK, the HK is connected to the headunit by fibre optic which an aftermarket unit wont have,

Doesnt seem to be according to LR circles.
Do you mean the amp?

Yes the amp. The speakers will be connected to the amp instead of the headunit so it is not going to be a straight swap, some some of interface will be needed unless the HK amp just connects to the system via standard speaker cables. Go with what the LR forum says.
