Hi all

Not entitled to upgrade anytime soon. Am transferring from one number to another and happy to continue using my Bberry Bold 9700 as my main phone.
Need to carry 2nd phone for six/twelve month crossover period with sim card for old number. Looking for something with long battery life and a decent camera (better than the 3.2mp on the Bold). Needs to be compact-ish and not too fragile for when i get back to work. The only spare handsets I have are Bberrys and I dont want to carry two of those, far too confusing)
Anyone got anything (or even a recommendation for a decent handset - I got offered an 8mp Samsung Pixon but at £150 new it was a "no way" situation - not looking to spend a huge amount here).
Thanks

Nokia 6700 classic with a 5 mp camera, can be bought for about £100 nowadays. The missus had one for 18 months and it was the best 'non smartphone' she has had.

Johnny - I have a Nokia N95 8GB sitting in my drawer, untouched after upgrading to an Iphone, so in essence it has had a years light use - compact, with a very decent camera (far better than an Iphone). Happy to part with it for £30 to an MB club member as I can't be bothered to send it off.

Hi Charles
If Jonny Boy don't buy it can a have first refusal?
I chopped the wife's for a samsung and she don't like it.

Have pm'd you, thanks. Not sure if this is the handset that didn't work out for me a few years ago due to dust in the slider mechanism (I am a landscaper).
Will let you know.

Anyone else got a spare phone?

Cheers

Sure - first dibs to johnnyboy if it works for him, if not, yours.

N95 doesn't work for me - I had issues with getting the slide mechanism dusty with the last one I had so Steven I think you've got it!
Cheers Charles.

Anyone got a decent alternative for me?

Hi Jonny
Thanks for the heads up
All I would add is I wouldn't go for a Samsung Tocco Ultra as that's what I got the misses and it's pants. The software is too making it unpleasant to use.

Following this along, I really need to get something with a 5MP camera or better. New is not an option on cost grounds (2nd phone). Was shown a Samsung 8800 Pixon 8megapix in the o2 shop last week - could fit the bill nicely. Not at £150 though :(
Has anyone bought s/h phone/phones off ebay and if so what pitfalls etc? I'm an experienced ebayer so check out feedback, read comments etc but haven't bought s/hand technology from on there before. Thanks.
Anyone got experience of the handset?

Anyone?

got an iphone 3g lying around since i've upgraded to the iphone 4. (have had it unlocked via 02 when my contract came up for renewal, as well)...

Rascalmaster and I have chatted, it's not for me as the camera is not up to what I want. Nice chap though.

Still looking.....

Sorted, purchased a s/h Samsung Pixon 8mp.
Cheers all.
