Does anyone know of a good specialist or car sourcer that could find a good old S class 87-89 in the Midlands ? My budget is about £2K, don't mind high miles but want lots of history. [email protected]

You'll be hard pushed to find a decent locator who will help you for that budget, unless you only want to spend £1250 on the car, or unless they already know where one is. I've done a fair bit of this in the past, although at a different level and in a different market.
I'd also suggest that you might want to widen your search to the entire country to improve your chances.
There's a 500SE at the top of this page, a 560 here, a nice looking 420 here, several examples here and one or two more here
None are much more than 100 miles from the Midlands (Coventry, to be specific), although I don't know where you are.
There's no substitute for viewing as many as possible in order to get a good idea of what's available, what's worth sticking out for, and what problems are to be expected. You never know, you might just turn up a gem, where the seller doesn't know what he's got!
