After seeing a 507 edition image on the internet I decided to do a slight alteration to the car :)

Looks great! How's the maintenance of the matte vinyl?

I'm told it's the same as washing paint, but you don't then apply wax and polish. A specialist matte vinyl wax can be applied in order to maintain and protect the surface but it should not be buffed. From what he says it's easy to maintain if you only use regular wash fluids.

I like it where did u get it done?

Same guy that did my A45. Shane Lee Gray of UTWS in New Milton, Hampshire. He does a great job.

They forgot to wrap the brake calipers. :fail

Seriously, it looks fab. :thumb:

Ant.

Things have probably moved on then. A few years ago we were given a lecture on maintaining our wrapped Caddy at work and it was literally: keep it dry, keep it clean, use microfibre cloth with agents. Of course with our weather nobody could keep up and it was gone in less than a year.

Did you do door shuts as well?

I think it looked great in red, but the matte grey looks fantastic, a click higher in the mean dial. If I was to wrap a car, that's the colour I'd go for. Good choice :thumb:

What sort of cost is involved in having it wrapped if you don't mind me asking?
Ta
Looks great by the way...

the downside to wraps are chips look far worse as the vinyl will lift after a time because of water..but looks nics

No door shuts as it isn't intended as a long term fixture. So much more work involved and many more bits to remove. Inside of fuel cap and behind panels have all been wrapped though so unless you are looking at the door shuts you won't tell.

We do each other favours through work but you'd be looking at £1800+ I'd say.

Never had an issue with water previously.

Stone chips are obviously still a problem, but it's cheaper and easier to rewrap a bumper or wing than it is to paint it.

Is it much of a rigmarole telling the DVLA about the colour change? I know up to a few year ago you didn't have to tell them but I noted that changed when I had a look at a wrapped matte black 4x4 over a year ago.

As far as I'm aware you still don't have to tell the DVLA as it's not a permanent change like paint would be. I will check though.
