We buy a code reader, generally to avoid paying £50 (plus) a pop just for getting the codes read at a dealer or Independent just to identify a fault. Fixing the fault then incurs a further cost, be it DIY or back to the garage. Icarsoft @ £90 is less than 2 visits to get codes read and Delphi at almost £600 is 12 visits. A further consideration is how often will you use it ?? How keen at getting your hands dirty are you?? Plenty of threads on here with the pros and cons for all the code readers and also on you tube and we all make our choice based often on cost. If cash constraints were no problem then individually we would all own a Star machine, and many probably bugger up the cars computer playing with things we did not understand. You pays your money, you takes your choice. I with many others on here chose the Icarsoft and am now already "in profit" with it, and profits make me smile.
