Hi! from my 420SE and I...

Hi guys,
My first post on this forum to introduce myself, and my 1991 420SE (I also have a 1990 260E). I bought my 420SE in February last year with 155k on the clock. She has a little rust on the front wings, and the chrome on the bumpers, but other than that no more rust to worry about. The only problem is the lacquer is crazed, so eventually I will have the car repainted.
Mechanically she is pretty much A1 because the engine had a rebuild about 25k ago so she runs great. I think, however, the baffles have gone somewhere in the exhaust. Does anyone know where I can get a good quality stainless (or steel) exhaust for less than an arm and a leg? Does anyone have a decent second hand exhaust from a breaker maybe? Looking forward to more posts soon!

Many thanks, yes I did. I haven't tried them yet, but the price you quote is extremely competitive. I've tried a company local to me and they quoted £800 for a stainless system, and £600 for mild steel. I'm sure that's not the cheapest I'll find!
Went out in the car yesterday and the drivers door window motor went - obviously with the window in the down position! Fortunately we've had no rain today and I've just dropped my car off at the specialist I use (conveniently about 3 miles down the road!) and hopefully I'll get it back tomorrow.
By the way if any of you are in the Cheshire area I use Vic Vitelli in Alvanley who is very knowledgeable especially on the older 80's and 90's cars and also very reasonable labour rates. I can provide his number for anyone that's interested.:bannana:
