What brand PSU would our experts recommend for a desktop computer, at present it has an Antec Sonata II with a built in 450W psu.

Me being me says blow it and chuck in a slightly more alleged powerful unit that is cheap and cheerful but my son has gone ballistic and demanded we spend a fortune buying a quality product.

Help!

I am here to listen and take the advice of the many IT specialists that requent this forum. Minimum wattage 450 and this is for my sister so no crazy money.

Regards
John

If you could provide full details of the system, ie cpu/gfx/number of hard disks etc this would determine the type of power required as sometimes getting a big psu may not be the best, it would be easier for someone to give you a informed answer.

Perhaps I should qualify myself a little more when I jump in on these discussions  . I support 600+ computers in Manchester Uni, the link I gave is to a supplier we use regularly. Sorry for being a a bit random/vague.

As previously said though, this has been discussed in detail before, so go for that one me thinks :D .
