washing up liquid is fine as you are going to repolish anyway

Washing up liquid is full of salt in order to bulk up the liquid.
I'm sure I've read another reason why it should never be used on a car, but cannot remember at the moment what it was exactly. Keep it in the kitchen unless you have metal dinner plates.

I find meguairs cleaner/polish is good ...then i use colinite wax..

I just wish I could justify the orbital polisher from meguairs ...xmas coming ,,,;)

Claying, detailing, polishing...wow....it's a car aren't you then petrified of driving it and getting it dirty?

No , where have i ever said that ?

Just like to keep it clean , no problem with that is there ?

Good.

nothing wrong with claying once on a while, i use the meguiers quikclay with the detailing spray, works well.

Me too.

Absolutely Howard :)

There's something quite satisfying about cleaning your car.... A sense of well being and achievement ... Looking after something you cherish ... Sunday mornings with a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich ... Magic :) ........ Ahem .. xcuse me

I use Turtle Wax 'Minute Wax' as a lube for the clay bar.. Works mint. The clay glides instead of jerky sticking.. Topped off with Megiuars NXT Tech wax.. Top job. Wash with zip wax, this keeps the clay outing to 3 times a year.. Cool ;)
