has anybody else noticed the decline in customer service at Mercedes benz Basingstoke since tony purslow left ? if you ever ring mb Basingstoke I would recommend holding for the person you need to speak to as they never return your calls , I left 2 messages for service reception , one for the service manager and one for the service director , nobody rang back . the reason I needed to speak to them ? my car was damaged in their care and even though the service manager acknowledged the damage was fresh refused to admit liability . needless to say I won,t be returning

Hi,an introduction would have been nice, I can understand your anger, but more information
would be helpful if you want any sensible advice.:thumb:

darn im disappointed with this news. As im servicing my car soon and normally take it up to mb of basingstoke!

hi niketpatel , i can recommend keylink in woodmancott , they are mercedes specialists . the service is excellent , good value ( £55 / hr ) and any servicing will not affect your warranty . i could not fault their service

thanks mate but terry at wayne gates takes care of my car, the only reason I use the stealers is because I took out a service car contract with them when i bought the car.

Hi Mark, welcome to the forum.

I've been using Purslow for 12+ years and always had excellent service - the last visit was just 6 weeks ago for the SLK, but the 212 goes in for a service in a couple of weeks so I'll be watching. I've also used Keylink in the past when my 210 got very old - Purslow came up with a load of advisories and I wanted a second opinion - Keylink came up with the exact same list but were slightly cheaper so I got them to do the work.

If you are 100% sure the car was damaged by Purslow then I would think it's worth another shot - make an appointment and go in and speak calmly to them. The boss may have moved on, but it's the exact same team on the front desk and in the workshop, and when I was last in there they all seemed as enthusiastic as ever.

Hope the damage is not too serious.

hi wilsodg , thankyou for the welcome . i must admit that their service in the past has been excellent but they really let me down this time .
