Hello
I am trying to help a mate who has a problem with his 2005 220 CDI EClass
It is bringing on ESP and ABS are various times. The auto box also refuses to chage up at times.
My code reader only dies the power train but the only code is P0720
Anyone point me in the right direction please.
I was thinking ABS sensor but this sounds like a power train fault?

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Save yourself a lot of trouble and get a proper code reader on it, otherwise you are just guessing and could quickly replace parts at way beyond the cost of a good reader or a diagnostic session.

The days of me spending on new Code Readers have gone. I have several but none will read Mercedes apart from the engine.
Just asking if anyone has had that code and what were the common faults.
Regards Ken

P0720 Mercedes-benz - Output Speed Sensor Error

Sounds a bit like a gearbox electronics fault either the conductor plate or the connector where it connects to the outside TCM[ TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE] can get contaminated with gearbox fluid causing electrical faults.
Its possible that the TCM talks to the ABS/ESP control unit too causing it to flag aproblem. lots of stuff if you doa search on conductor plate. Needs a good code reader as has been said.

Thank you
I will check the basics and if nothing let him take it in. Was hoping it would be something simple like an ABS sensor but it's a power train fault by the look of things.
Thank you very much.
