Morning all,

May I ask what the best software would be to read fault codes etc on a merc w447 please? And where is get it

I heard that some things that you change require software to reset, I’m also thinking diagnosing a specific wheels sensor that requires replacing.
Also, Turning off engine management light, etc.

Thank you all

Wes

For diagnosing faults, the most common DIY kit is iCarsoft MB v2.0 or v3.0.

For resetting/coding, there's no DIY solution (the iCarsoft have very limited resetting capability), you'll need to take the car to an independent specialist who has genuine MB STAR.

Well I would suggest you look on you tube ,because I have 4 different makes of car that I get lumbered with when things go wrong,I bought a TopDon BT800 it has free updates for life and is wifi,it has up to now pointed out wheel speed sensor on two cars, reset service interval, reset auto gearbox after a ATF change,it has reset keyless entry on a Citroen,of course it is not Mercedes only like the icarsoft which is a very good diagnostic tool but up to now it has not failed me with the exception of being unable to remove the restricted speed limit of a Peugeot van.

I use my iCarsoft MB2 on our 447 V220. My 19 with no problems. It is under Sprinter, not Mercedes..
