Diagnostic tool to verify Vehicle past data

Hi all

I have seen many OBD2 scanners from Autel / Launch. But do any of these OBD2 scanner can tell the past history of the vehicle like how much was the original mileage the vehicle clocked? or the odo is tampered etc..

Any advise is appreciated from Merc Sifu's

Depends how well the "mileage correction" has been done to the car. The MS diagnosis tool gives a lot of history info, mileage from many control units, service history and mileage stamps for certain fault occurrences.

If the mileage has been changed with a CAN-filter behind the cluster, it would be relatively straightforward to identify this with many other diagnosis tools too but if an expert had worked with the car, it could well be impossible to find the original mileage, excluding of course mechanical wear analysis.

Sorry, a spelling mistake (again), no Microsoft here but MB diagnosis tools (SDS or Star Diagnosis System, any variant of it).
