Diesel cars to be priced off the road ??

Back in 2009 I was paying 36.6p per litre for LPG.....it's more than double that now. It's just effing ridiculous what we in the UK pay for fuel!

If we didn't pay it on fuel we would be paying it somewhere else, there is no escape.....

I rest my case, there is no escape because that is never going to happen, no matter who governs....

Good news :thumb:

Noisy , smelly things that should be priced off the road and leave it free for our lovely V-8's :D:devil::devil:

While they're at it , move al the Diesel pumps round the back of the garage along with the trucks and buses , then we can have the nice , clean forecourt at the front for our nice , clean cars :D

:p:p:p

It doesn't really affect me seeing as I don't use diesel, still a complete piss take though.

Oh! but it does indirectly, as everything you buy is delivered by diesel trucks. Although it sounds like a bit of scare mongering to me.

Surely this would be the EU dictating to a national exchequer what they should levy in tax? Is direct taxation not one of the last bastions of national identity these faceless barstewards have no say on?

Don't they already set a minimum level for VAT? I know they keep baulking at the UK exempting children's clothing, etc.

Not going to happen. If it did, it's both a massive vote loser and the economical ramifications would be too disastrous for any economy to contemplate.

What votes? The EU Commission is appointed, not elected. That's why they'll get away with it.
