This is for all of you diesel heads out there.....

I have managed to persuade a friend of mine to get a C class (203) Diesel instead of the BMW 320D. now what he can get is either a very well spec'd C220 CDI or a not so well spec'd C270CDI. A few questions.....

Does he get the 220 and chip it?
Is there a chip that he can remove between services?
Will the chip bring the 220 up to 270 spec?
Is there much difference between the two in standard form?

What would your advice be...spec'd 220 or boggo 270??

All advice appreciated...

It depends what your friend wants, toys or performance. Chipping a diesel will give you around an extra 30% power and torque and better MPG.

Most good chips like Superchips and Upsolute are transparent and cant be detected by MB diagnostics.

He could get the 220 with the toys and have it chipped to perform like the 270 or get the 270 and get that chipped to go like the clappers.:p

Personlly I would be tempted to go for the 270 and have it chipped, depends what options the 220 had and if I thought I could live with or without them.

Just had my V220CDi chipped by upsolute. Its the Best £320
ive ever spent. Chip is removable so it can go back to std.
