Looking at a merc to buy e280cdi sport and have notice that the front passengers side sits a bit higher that the drivers side im wondering if u guys have came across this before? Im thinking maybe spring has broke in the past and replace with a standard one rather than a sport spring ehat u guys think

Passenger seat slightly higher than driver's seat…………….has the driver's seat experienced much more wear and the sponge compressed with use?

...and therefore the drivers side rear sits lower?

No think both rears sit equal I will look again tomorrow when parked on flat rd but the way it sat in dealership I could get 4 fingers in gap from tyre to edge of arch and only 2.5/3 on drivers side

Hi sorry for the confusion im talking about the cars ride height and the gaps from tyres to edge of arches

The road springs always sag more on the drivers side as the car always has a driver on board.

Measure from the ground to the underside of the wheel arch on each side. Any discrepancy and you can ask why.

Edit...DM above has the answer.

Ok thanks guys if dealer diesnt have answer is it likey a standard spring has been fittwd instead of a sport spring as the sports sit lower from factory

Unless the car is bent, then if the drivers front is low then so is the drivers rear, or the opposite corner is high. You can't have a level car at one end and different heights at the other.

More likely is that the drivers spring is getting close to snapping.

Better to measure to the wheel centre this takes out another variable...the tyre.

Don't be afraid to walk away if you aren't totally happy G. There are plenty of E class diesels for sale if that one proves to be a lemon.
