Oue Panasonic Sky Digi box has had a habit of freezing, but it has got severely worse recently.

The fix was to switch it off at the wall, pull out the Sky card, wait 20 seconds and switch back on. Wait for it to ask for the card, insert and away we went again.

Not so bad when you only have to do it once a month, but now it is 2-3 times a day:mad:

We have had the box since Sky went digital, do these boxes have a life expectancy, or can someone throw some light on a cure please?

Cheers,

Poor signal quality is the prime suspect, check cables and alignment etc.

Phone up and get an engineer to come over...

sky may try to charge to 60 quid ish but say no , i will cancel then and they will transfer you and then they will arrange to have the engineer arrive at no charge.

I have had to do this twice now, good luck.

On the canceling front, got to say we are getting to the point where we feel the £43 charged by Sky is just too much for the amount of TV we watch.

My dad recently phoned them and told them he wanted to cancel, and they transfered him to a department that eventually let him keep the sports channels, but no movies for £18 a month. He just said he was a pensioner and he could not afford it any more, but really enjoyed the sports channels so they sorted a package for him.

Has anybody else had this experience?

You disc is being alterd, strong winds may be moved it a bit.

Yep thats the way to play your game... They are willing to lower the price. Tell them that you want to go to FreeView...

If you only watch the standard Free to Air channels you can also cancel your subsciption and take a FreeToAirCard cost you £20 one off but you will need a sky box, eBay?
