Can an independent garage update your digital service record after a service and MOT and if so how do they do that?
I can see on the Mercedesme webpage how to get a copy of the record but not how to get it updated.
Giving up on MB for servicing.

Independent specialists can register with MB, which provides them with access to the DSB, as well as technical info and tools (e.g. STAR), and genuine spare parts at trade prices.

MB do not have much choice in the matter, this is part of the EU block exemption that gives car manufacturers exemptions from certain free-market legislation while ensuring that they cannot abuse it and create a monopoly. This is also whey they cannot invalidate the new car warranty just because the car was not serviced by a franchised dealer etc.

There are certain restriction, e.g. they can only sell genuine spare parts if they also charge for the fitting, but they are not allowed to just sell-on genuine spare parts.

But yes, an intendant specialist that registered with MB will have access to most of the relevant bits that a franchised dealer has.

Yes the higher end MB indies will pay the subscriptions to MB and have acess.

Be sure to ask your chosen indy and ask them to show you. Dont rely on them calling themselves a merc indy.
 
The last service that is on the database is at 30288 miles someone else will confirm the rest
 
On my car i did a HPI check via mycarcheck uk and it told me 2 services at Mercedes which i managed to get printed off. There was also 2 other services at Halfords that i managed to get printed off i had to contact Halfords advice centre.

So hopefully a HPI will be able to point you in the right direction and who to contact

I was sat here inputting my weeks work. It was no biggy. I am happy to help existing members anytime, newbies if it’s convenient to me. Hopefully having received the help he asked for he’ll be encouraged to bring more content to the forum.

In reality though I doubt it.

I commend you but you are creating a "route" for people to obtain this information.

No reason why the seller, buyer can't get the information other than the fact they can't be ****d.

Please don't take things wrong way. I do not agree that is my perogative.

I think we are creating a rod for our own back.

I’m sorry it’s inconvenienced you so heavily. I’ll try not to burden you so much in future ;)

Perhaps I'm confused, I thought we were a community and all our inputs were valued?
