Another Car gone in here for covers - Dealer was unaware of bulletin, but a quick search on their systems brought it up and hey presto, new covers!!!

I took mine into Merc in Reading, the guy was a d!ck to say the least. He said there's no such service bulletin for my car... Does anyone have a reference number for the bulletin which I can use? The guy also told me there's no adhesive in that part of the seat...

attached are the pics of driver & pass. seat.

i took it into MB with the TSB reference - they said they had no record of any such bulletin being noticed - are they just trying to pull a fast one?

Those seats are a real mess Mate, worst I've seen.
If the car is still under warranty, get it back to the dealer, get them to take some pictures and send them off to Mercedes UK with all the necessary paperwork for a response MB UK .. if they won't do anything about it, threaten them your going to speak MB UK about the issue yourself..

Sounds to me they can't be bothered>>

Sorry not been on for a while, update is we have had the front seat covers adjusted MB had the car for 3 days plus they fitted new sill plastics all under warranty. we did not have stargard applied to the new seats.
today 7th July 15, attended Sytner MB Bristol Cribbs to enquire about warranty on the wheels, there is milky swirls / lines on 2 of the wheels, the warranty guy said that the wheels had been refurbished meaning that the warranty is void. we have not had any work done on these wheels, the wheels are mint except for the milky marks.
we where told even if you use a touch up stick to cover a stone chip it would void your warranty, they have taken photo's we are now awaiting a phone call

all seat covers front & rear have been replaced, some further adjustments had to be made and plastic trims replaced due to damage when the front seats removed.
all seats fine now, we did not have stargaard re-applied.
we managed to get our dealer to pay for all wheels to be refurbished via a wheel specialist £500.00 (re-diamond cut, gloss powder coat & lacquer) after our dealers man in a van bodged the wheel refurbishment.
we were patient with our dealer bit had to keep emailing, calling, attending in person, writing to MB UK HQ, all is complete car is now out of warrany
all

I'm having the same problem with my 2013 sport plus and noticed this on the test drive. The dealer jct Mercedes in Sheffield cleaned the seats and the stain went away, so we all thought this was sorted. Then 24 hours of owning the car they came back after we'd used the car. It seams to come back when you sit on them for around 30 mins and the warmth brings it out. I then googled this and found this thread and sent it to jct and they finally agreed to sort it under warranty.

Thing is though, there is a back log for the seat covers from MB UK so they have offered to re-trim all seats in leather, but there is the issue of a mismatch of fabrics with the doors, centre arm rest etc. I actually like the original covers and was 1 of the main items that attracted me to the car.

For the people on here who have had the seat covers replaced, have the stains stayed away?

I had all my seat covered with the original design covers under warranty at JCT Mercedes Sheffield in April 2015. To this day the cover still look brand new with on new staining.

I'm lead to believe original problem was caused with the glue used to attach the coverers during build interacting with water/rain waterer causing the white stains.

They couldn't get a lead time from MB for replacement seat covers, so they have offered to re-trim the whole interior in leather. I accepted and just got the car back today and it looks superb. The quality is excellent and has the red stitching to match the steering wheel.

After reading through this thread, I am convinced my seats have the same problem.

Can anyone advise where I stand with my vehicle? I purchased it from a non MB dealer last year, with full MBSH. The car is a 2012 C250 Coupe.

Very unsure about who I should speak to about the problem and getting it resolved.

Hi all,

So I think I have a very similar issue in a 62 plate C-250, does this look like the similar issue you are all having?

I'm going to take it into the Doncaster MB Dealership over the next few days/weeks

Is there anything specific I should say to not get a fobbed off excuse?

It is a fault and my car originally came from Doncaster Jct600 but was transferred to Sheffield Jct600 and they replaced with leather. It's is a fault with the glue.

However, the the company they used to replace my seats with leather are not very good and they use cheap imported pre made seat covers and the quality is not up to par. I would insist on original MB seat covers?

Ive just swapped my w204 for a w205 65 plate because I couldn't get on with the seats and Jct were very accommodating.

You will have to be persistent and be prepared to complain right up to the directors as I did.
