Hello all,

Got a funny which hope someone can help please?

The SL got a warning that the RH dipped beam was not working so switched bulbs to confirm it was the bulb. (They're only 5 months old) The LH dipped beam works OK and the RH doesn't so looks like the bulbs are OK, however I now get a message that the LH dipped beam isn't working!

Anyone any ideas? It's a 2005 R230 with xenons.

Thanks in advance,
Bobby

Now getting nmessage that it's the RH bulb so looks as if it's the ballast?
How easy if that to replace?

This happens occasionally on my C220 CDI ( also Xenons) though so far it's always only the RH bulb. Generally if I stop, switch off, remove ignition key and wait a few seconds before restarting it then works ok for a further few months. I figured that if it was a fault with bulb and/or ballast the fault would be perhaps more permanent.

Intrigued though as to what might cause this.

Thanks Parrotman.

Yeah, was hoping it would go away but afraid it's constant. Spoke to an Indy who servived my R-class and he said it could be the ballast or something else(can't remember what he said) so thnk I'll have to get him to look at it. I can't see the ballast in the engine compartment and would have to get under the car to see from there but I'm unable to do that. Erse.
