The left hand side wing mirror in my CLK55 dips on selection of reverse gear, as it is supposed to. However, it doesn't return to the previous position when selecting drive. I can sometimes hear the motors operating but it doesn't move. It does return to the previous position by using the electric mirror toggle, so the motors are working OK. Anyone any ideas as to what is wrong?

I had this problem on my E270 and the garage tried a few things, but eventually only got it working properly by replacing the module.

The mirror should return to its original position once you exceed 6mph in a forward gear.

I didn't know that, I thought it returned to the original position when you selected Drive.

the 6mph thing is so that the mirror doesn't move back when you are manouvering front and back .. very well thought out engineering

Yes, thats what I thought as well, especially as it did. However I have noticed it sometimes wouldn`t and the 6mph would explain why it eventually did!

Was that clear?:D
