Looks pretty good to me. With a 1995 model you'd have to check the dreaded wiring loom, and the head gasket being an m104 engine.

The same seller has a red one for £1,495 which also looks good.

Just a personal thing, but all variants of S class look wierd in short wheel base guise. I'd hang on a LWB 320 for that reason, but with only 55k miles and under £2k it has to be worth a look.

Yes, you're right, that shorter wheelbase removes a disproportionate amount of presence.

That said, for that money, a lot of thing.

I'd forgotten about the loom - wasn't the gasket OK?

All m104 engines will need a head gasket eventually, and with only 55k on that car it not have been done. Hardly a deal breaker, but something to be mindful of.

That car seems a decent spec for an s280 as well. I've seen quite a few with manual cloth seats and no climate control.

It does seems a good price for a low mileage car, and is probably quite economical as well making it viable as a daily driver. Chuck an LPG system in and it gets even better.
