hi, I’ve just upgraded my old w203 to a 2011 c180 cgi. I’m having a push pull throttle brake lever added which is straight forward but I’ve been quoted £850 to convert the drivers seat manual forward backward slide to electric, I cant move my legs and have no finger movement so it’s a necessity. I’m wondering if it’s possible to get a full electric seat from a breakers and wire that up somehow, as it’ll already have the motors included. My new car doesn’t have the full electric seat option. Can anyone offer and advice for an 3asier & cheaper solution please? TIA nick.

If your car didn't leave the factory with electric seats there will be no looms and control module, so a lot of the cost will be in fitting those but you certainly could reduce costs significantly by sourcing a second hand seat yourself.

Hate to say it but wouldn’t it have been easier to find a W204 with electric seats?

As said above you’ll probably need a fair bit of wiring etc and if paying someone to do the work it could be quite an expensive job?

To be honest I don't think you can save much by retrofitting an original full-electric seat.

Firstly you will need to source a full-electric seat that will match the current interior colour, and won't be a sport seat (for ease of entering and exiting). And you'll need to find someone who will sell a single seat as opposed to a pair or complete interior.

Then you'll need to buy all the bits and pieces such as wiring loom etc, and have it coded using STAR.

And then you'll probably get errors regarding other elements that came with original memory package (e.g. memory/tilting wing mirrors etc) and which you didn't retrofit.

I would simply opt for an aftermarket modification to enable the existing seat to move electrically.

That, or buy another car with the memory package including full-electric front seats as Will suggested.

^^^^ wot he said ... :thumb:

I looked all over for a car in my budget that had everything i needed including the memory seats, but in the end something had to give... i think from the feedback im going to have to get over it & cough up. thanks for your input.
