Disconnect Diesel injector wire on idle?

Hi all, around the internet I've seen posts from people disconnecting the injector wires while the car is running to diagnose an injector issue.

I'm not sure if these people had a Diesel car or not, so I thought I would ask on here to gauge if you think this is safe?

Some engine models shut down if you do that. And you will get EML anyway. Engine is not running in balance, of course. You can shut down injection more safely by SDS, but with extreme troubleshooting unplugging is one way to do it...
