    Hi.

I am fully renovating my grandads 1983 W123 230e he had from new.
It is very nearly there but i need a few bits of trim etc.
Is there a MB dealer that offers discounts? My local dealer is an absolute fortune!!!

    Thanks

Try Mercedes-Benz of Newcastle and Mercedes-Benz of Edinburgh. Both are know for their discounts and good service. Both can be found on eBay too.

I've never had much luck with Mercedes Edinburgh, do you not mean Mercedes Grangemouth?

Speak to Steve in Edinburgh, tell him Pat sent you. :)

I've tried Grangemouth, always more expensive than EDI and they are AC at the end of the day.

    Agreed.

I did mean Edinburgh. Not used them personally, but I only hear good things on service and discounts (until now).

Which Edinburgh branch does Steve work in? There are two Edinburgh dealers, both owned by the same company though.

That explains it, I've been using westernholdings, never had much luck getting a discount with them.

I doubt much discount is available for parts for a 35 year old car. A lot will no longer be made and heritage parts often command a premium.

Mercedes of Poole are, or certainly were, the official supplier of classic mercedes parts:
    Mercedes-Benz Classic Parts: Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-Benz of Poole

I'm not sure about discounts as I doubt there's much competition. I've no personal experience but they had a good reputation years ago when they were Jacksons of Poole, although they're now part of the Sandown group.

I think it might be more of a case of actually being able to source the parts rather than whether a discount is available but there's no harm in asking:)

Have you actually sat down and spoke to your local parts manager? when i was rebuilding my engine which was out of warranty i made an appointment with them and explained the situation and asked them what they are going to do for me. In the end they offered me trade discount (5-15%) on everything but i did spend a few K. Its worth asking

Failing that, joining the official Mercedes-Benz Club will entitle you to 10% off parts.

Not a huge amount but it does add up over the year and it’s hassle free to use at all MB parts retailers.
