Distance warning light

Hi, wonder if anyone can help. Most of the time when going out in my car the distance warning light flashes twice accompanied by two high tone beeps.

When it happens is fairly random but seems to average about 2 or 3 minutes after setting off. It will only ever happen once per journey.

I don't think it is a warning from the distance warning system as that works fine and I have turned it off but does not affect this symptom.

I cannot find anything in the manual.

I have the new shape E63 saloon.

My "Collision Warning Assist" comes on regularly so I don't think it's anything to worry about. I think about it as an over- concerned friend - but it does see, to be set off by some odd things - even street light pylons in my experience. I think you can turn it off but it's never bothered me too much - although I'm sure it does others.

Love your choice of car btw - definitely the best fast saloon in the world. Any pics?
