Hi All,

Just happened to be watching some TV last week in the US, when NBC Dateline aired a special report called "To catch a predator" about trapping paedophiles in an area called Petaluma, and I understand that this was not the first trap of it's type.

If you have kids that use the net, you should find and download this show.

In the meantime, here's some text coverage:

Australian Federal Police have been doing it for years by circulating teeny pic links in chatrooms and logging the IP address of the "suspects".

As much as it is well known the police realise that perverts simply can't help themselves.

I'm glad that the police are onto it.

Hi Miro,

I gather most countries do it where possible, what I was most impressed by was the fact that they are putting it all on tv!

You would hope that future criminals might reconsider if they find that their computer screen is no longer a fortress of solitude.

It's a bit like cartoons where the image leaps out of the computer screen.

I watched another one last night, filmed in Georgia.

Hilarious to see how many of the guys have seen the Dateline shows, yet they still went (ang got busted).

Just like the 98 people who had outstanding warrants decided that it was a good idea to turn up for the movie audition held by the police.
