I have just purchased a second hand set of alloys and although the face is fine the barrel has a couple of blisters that I would like to sort before pressing them into service. Ideally I want to sand them down, treat then give the whole barrel a spray. Masking the wheel will be a problem as they are 20 spoke. Is there any tricks to stop overspray onto the face side? All I can think of is to mask off all the spokes with a dish of card and spray the barrel. I could then do the spokes by brush. Also the barrel is a very light grey, almost white. Anyone know the colour, they are Ronal OEM MB wheels so I’m sure it’s a standard colour. You tube came up with nothing helpful although I did learn a bit about plasticote. Didn’t even know that was a thing!
