Do I have DPF ?

Hi,

I am an owner of W204 C200 CDI 2008 plate.
I was convinced that I do have DPF and I never bother to check if I do.

Recently I started to plan oil change and I was wondering now much oil I have so I found this page:

According to that information they installed DPF on W204 C200 CDI model from 2011 year onward and for my model from 2008 there is no DPF next to the engine name.


According to that documentation my engine should be:
C200 CDI (204.007/207) (2007 – 2011) 646.811


So the question is... Do I have DPF in my car and how to check it by myself ?

Option 474 is the build code for DPF

A quick check would be the condition of the inside of the tailpipe(s)

Clean = DPF
Sooty = No DPF

As it's a 2008 pre-blue efficiency you wont have a dpf.

1) do you have a sooty tail pipe? If yes then no dpf
2) does your engine number start with 646. if yes then no dpf.

Also if you are wondering about oil, none-dpf cars can have 229.5, but these days all genuine MB oil seems to be 229.51 which is fine for both dpf and none dpf.

Thanks for all the replied. My exhaust pipe is sooty as hell
I can't really clean it as it is all black (but the rear bumper is clean so it does not smoke too much).

It looks like I do not have DPF I was getting mental because of this

I also have a W204 C200 CDI 2008 with the OM646 engine so no DPF to worry about getting clogged!
