Do MB still make W202 jacking points?

As thread title. I need the metal jacking point as my existing ones have rusted, not the covers. A couple are bad enough to needing cutting and replacing.

Do MB still have these and are there any part numbers for these sill parts?

Looks like the whole side member part is still available which goes from front to back, the whole sill. £338 each side.

If you want to replace with an off the shelf part, yes.

IIRC the 202 jacking points are just tubular sections in the sill, they should be easy enough for a good fabricator to cut out and replace.

Hi,
You may recall recently that there was a thread about rusty 202s started by Karl (killerhertz) toward the end of the thread I put details regarding the work I had had done on outer sills and front jacking point, the actual jacking point it self is not IIRC ever available as a separate item part of it comes as part of the outer sill, and the bit that takes the load would have to be fabricated, this had to be done on mine quite straight forward as far as I can remember, I still have the old rotten jacking point somewhere. The outer sill will need to be removed to gain access to the part of the jacking point that needs to be repaired, if you do this look at the very front of the outer sill and the floor pan and inner sill around the jack pad as the floor can get very weak and deformed especially if your car has been on two post lifts and you have carried on using a weak jacking point.

The passenger side outer sill is or was on back order from Germany, drivers side was no longer available, though I was told this Info via the guy who repaired it so not from the horses mouth so to speak. There was a company who made them pattern, and a good fit apparently, but only passenger side was available, and again drivers side was no longer available.
Euromerc (nic) thought he had a few pairs, but he looked and it appeared he only had one side allbeit six of them.
You are aware to utilise the MB panel, you have to cut away the complete lower door shuts, and the bottom 2" of the "B" pillar.
From the rotten jacking point I still have, there is a bit more than just a tube in the sill, and to gain access to this the outer sill will have to removed in this area.

A good fabricator could make the sill but it would,nt be cheap, or you could cut the old one off repair the jacking point, and cut a repair piece off of a breaker.

I'm gonna have to talk to a good bodyshop and see if they can fix it. I'm not expecting it to be cheap, but not astronomical either.

I reduced the price of mine by removing the interior but I was anticipating the fact that i had a section of floor pan and inner sill to replace as well, the price of mine crept up because I had a wing replaced as well, which had to come off to remove the outer sill and as it was a bit rusty I decided to replace it, then by the time the door shuts, outer sill and new wing were repainted, the price had crept up by £300-£400.
The guy that did all the work took a load of pics which I have been meaning to upload to the forum at some point, if your interested I,ll upload a selection of pics after the weekend.

That would be a big help. I'll need to check my facelift W202 and see what lurks under its sills too.

I would check your facelift car first, as i have both prefacelift and facelift vehicles and the 43 was far far worse, the only indication there was rust was the slightly deformed floor around the front jack pad, and a blister of rust that appearred from under the outer sill into the rear door shut, my prefacelift car is on the other hand perfect. So have a careful check on your later car and depending on which one is your priority you may want to reallocate funds.

Yep, as above mine had 1 tiny patch of rust visible (around 1cm) until I removed the sideskirt I nearly wept.

The only wiring in this area is the main wiring ducts down each side of the car, and IIRC they only have to be removed if like me repairs have to be made to the inner sill or floor pan, then its only pushing and holding the whole duct away from the steelwork.
The only other loom that was touched was the side repeater which had to disconnect to enable the removal of the front wing which has to be removed to remove the outer sill.
