Do need to get a mechanic to "code" my headlights in after one failed?

Soni got those 2 messages about the intelligent light system and auto levelling inoperable. A day later it added "left dipped beam"

So I changed both dipped headlight bulbs, they were D1S, with the ballast thing on the back.

Now the left side is still not working but the right is.

Would changing the bulb on the right not need coding unless it had failed and made an error? Do does this indicate another problem?

The plug for the left side looked a little butchered by the last person who changed the bulb, but im sure it's connected OK and shouldn't vibrate out.

Well, technically you are meant to reset the "hours counter" with the diagnosis system when you change the bulb - what I don't know if whether the control unit does something stupid like turn it off after too many hours (i.e if you change it without resetting, does it turn off after it reaches a certain count)

Maybe once it's failed it just needs that done to say "OK try the new bulb"

Is that a star tool job or a dash menu job?
