Do you brim the tank?

I passed my test in September 1990 and I've never once been to the pump and not brimmed the tank.

I seem to chat to many people that just put a set amount in say £10, £20 etc.

So who fills up completely, and who fills up with whatever they feel like? :o

Ant.

I always brim the tank, although that didn't used to be the case when I was skint all the time...... I find it's much better being able to jump in if you need to go somewhere and knowing you've got a full tank.

If I'm about to embark on a motorway trip then brim up (don't like paying motorway services fuel prices). Otherwise 1/2 tank diesel which sees me through the week.

Always brim, no point in going to the pumps for less

I fill it up as financially it isn't a consideration and I have no desire to go to a petrol station more often than I need to.

Usually fill up when it is on about 1/8th tank, try not to let it drop any further if I can avoid it.

I usually fill up once a year and buy fuel in 50 litre quantities and the fill at the end of the following year and work out average mpg.

To the brim. Every time.

I hate filling up and the fewer times I have to do it, the better.

My view too.

Sadly yes  Just brimmed the Wife's Golf 2.0 TDI with £45 worth of unleaded .
Didn't realise what I had done till I drove off Tescos forecourt and car came to a spluttering stop..
Local mechanic who services her car came out and towed me back to his workshop. Awaiting call to find out results.
Feel a total Knob Head :(

Always, every time in my own car. I don't understand those who don't, surely people who literally can't afford to fill the tank are massively in the minority?

The only time I don't is if I know the car is being part-exchanged or isn't mine.

Easily done. Although I can honestly say I never have... :fail

Even when I had company cars...I didn't. Explain that.

The only two reasons I can think of not to are:

1. Its money sitting in the tank that people may not have (or can make better use of)
2. Its additional weight to push along reducing economy.

Anything else?

When you hit the £99.99 limit at some pumps.

Brim it but recently Shell has a bonus scheme on where if you fill up dead on exact amounts then you get bonus points, so currently only putting £80 on the dot into the workvan, and £60 odd or whatever it is in the mb
