Do you have a mis-spaced number plate etc?

Looks like ice cream mobile business must be making good money.

I'm in texas and dont understand the mis spacing issue. But I would like to trade a set of Texas plates for a uk set? If anyone is interested, let me know, I'll ship out an old set I have.

UK registration plates must use a specific font and with specific space between letters and numbers. Some people adjust the appearance of letters and numbers to look more like other letters and numbers, and they also change the space between them to try and make them read words or names.

For example TEX 4S is a legitimate correctly spaced registration number but it could have the 4 adjust to look more like an A (or a black dot added beneath it) and the space removed to make it look more like TEXAS. This would be “mis-spaced” and technically illegal in the UK, but many do it.

That makes sense. I thank you.
Is it illegal to trade old plates? I'm looking to trade Texas for UK.
Also, someone said plates cost thousands of pounds??? Is this accurate?
Again, thank you.

Take a look at this: Expensive number plates

In the UK, plates stay with the car unlike yourselves where the plate is swapped each year

UK plates look very boring - they have nothing much on them apart from the registration letters. Old ones are black with white or silver letters/numbers:

A more modern (current format) plate:

Plates themselves aren't expensive, but as mentioned the actual registration number displayed on them can be if you want to buy something distinctive (rather than having a standard format registration assigned to the car).

I just want the normal white with black background to add to my wall.

That style of plate is only legal on pre-1980 cars. As mentioned the registration stays with the car, so you'd typically only pick them up if someone was replacing them or scrapping the car (and the old ones would probably just get thrown away).

You can order new ones though from all sorts of places including eBay:
