I have a MERC SL 350 R129
I have found a fob in a draw. My dad owning the car knows it’s got something to do with the car and it seems to be made out of the same plastic and general design of the key.
But after a hour googling I have still got no clue. It has no markings on it so no way to identify it. Not sure if anyone on here knows what it is.
Any help will be appreciated

Try posting the same thing on the US MBClub. If you get no joy, contact Carl Burgess at The R129.co. He'll probably know.

You could also see if you can find and download a copy of the driver's handbook on the internet and take a look in that.

Does it start the car?

could be some sort of valet key.

It is the alarm fob - I have exactly the same in my W140 ( in my car there’s a slot down by the drivers A pillar for it to plug in ) . You should have a red one and a black one .

As a new member to the forum I am learning and gleaning information by the day. 👍

Here are the two in my car

And the socket at the bottom of the A pillar
