    remember
I drove Citroen CX Prestige with a semi automatic box or electronic clutch, It was a bit weird as it had a stick but no clutch.

Wasn't the early SMART like that? I seem to remember a shift but no clutch when I had one as a loaner

Like baxlin I miss work like a toothache, and I'm over a decade longer into retirement! Retired early though, long story, plans modified when Gordon Brown robbed the stock market!

Had column changes on my Austin A40 Cambridge and a Vauxhall Victor 10, you just had to be leisurely, not a thing for quick changes
Yes, the changes were made by cable's running from the column mounted gear change down to the box ( in the Cortina anyway) and if you rushed them, they could get confused very easily....:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Watched it the other night, not a stunner but something about her. ;)

Frances De La Tour is actually a very accomplished actress

...or could do 100mph.

I can remember when the Ashford Bypass dual carriageway first opened (mid 1960's) and for once Dad had a clear road where he could really put the foot down in his Mk1 Cortina GT, his smile when the speedo finally read 100mph for the first time ever - for both him and the car! These days, on the M20 between Maidstone and Folkestone, it's rare not to be passed by many cars doing 100 or more!

Yes, the Rising Damp thing the other night was quite good.
I did not know (or can't remember) it was a stage show before tv.

We had Miss Jones then............[insert as you see fit]

Was that Ring Damp Forever?
I saw that a few weeks ago and I didn't know it was a stage show either, or that Rigsby's name was originally Rooksby but was changed after objection by a (IIRC Yorkshire) landlord of the same name.

I actually called a lovely Border Collie we had around 25 years ago Rigsby. :)

That was it, when I say "other night" it could be any time, no idea what day it is let alone week. ;)

Always loved Don Warrington since then, liked the show he did with Nigel Havers and Anthony Head.
I watch Death in Paradise and I still think it is just to see him in it.
