Hello friends, strange happenings today in my 2001 E class, indicated right on a roundabout and when this was automatically canceled on exit the lefthand indicator started as if by magic. I was impressed until I realised that the stalk was in the centre and it it was still flashing left and the only of canceling it was to indicate left and then centering. Question is , is it the switch needs lubricating or something else anyone has had a problem with.

Busted indicator stalk I guess, same thing happened to me on my 2002 CLK. Had to replace the stalk.
Solved
Well as the title suggests after having this problem intermittently for about a month it finally came back and stayed, indicating left for 80 miles was not an option so I took the bulbs out and got home. Changed the indicator switch assembly today and everything is back to normal, not an easy job and now I have lost the self cancel on the lefthand turn in the process so must have got something wrong on reassembly but heyho at least I can drive it! :bannana:
