Domain Registration Details

I have a quick question - I want to register a domain, but I don't want to be traced.

The site I'm thinking of has to be anonymous (both for me and my users); and I would prefer to keep my name "off the record".

If I chose to tick the omit my details from the whois registry; is there a way for someone to get my details? By someone I'm thinking smaller African/Asian countries' leaders who have issues with freedom of information and/or freedom of speech...

Or would I be better off just putting false information?

I always use false details, but don't tell anyone

I would use a gmail or similer email address, and set it up that way... Gmail will send on messages should you only use this mailbox for this purpose. Only issue is how you pay for it.....
