In April 2007 the building regulations regarding loft conversions were changed. As a result I need some domestic fire doors to suite our 1927 house.
It is no longer permissable to have a long Velux window starting near the floor to serve as a fire escape in your newly converted loft. All doors to habitable rooms must be changed.
So I'm looking for 8 Edwardian-style fire doors, plus 4 doors in the same style which are not fire doors. I'll be selling my old doors to offset some of the cost, but I'm still looking at £3000 for the doors and maybe £1000 for door hardware and fitting.
Anyone know a good supplier of doors? I have the Howdens catalogue, but nothing suits the house.
I like these but all are imported and the delivery date is unknown ("April/May"): http://www.doordeals.co.uk/eMerchantPro/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=20&idproduct=524
