Folks
I have LPG Gas at my home which is only used to supply a cooker hob.
This runs of two 19Kg cylinders which sit outside the house and are connected via a switchable regulator (bolted to the wall of the house) which is connected to the cooker. The regulator is a simple switchable (manual) valve with a pressure switch (plunger) on the top. Itthen has two rubber gas tails going to the cylinders.
I can hear a buzz, which sounds like an electric toothbrush. This is coming from the regulator and NOT the cylinders.
I don't ever remember hearing this buzz, so I am sure it should not be doing it. I have no Gas smell and have tried a leak test with soapy water with no obvious leaks.
We also have tried new cylinders with no difference. The buzz is loud enough to be heard as you walk past. So it is obvious, not something you have to strain to hear.
Any clues? Is this something that suggests a huge explosion is imminent?
