Doomsday Preppers (wood burning car)

Did anybody see the doomsday programs on Discovery channel Monday,night?

Some dude had a pickup that ran on wood!

Quite a few preparedness people in the US have generators that run on wood/biomas gas. The idea is simple - you heat a biomass (wood, paper, etc) until it releases carbon monoxide and other flammable gasses. You then mix these with oxygen and ignite them.

Well... I think its amazing! And the engine bay didn't have anything in it except an engine!

I don't know how environmentally freindly it is, but it looked ace and pollution free.

Bet it had a gun rack! You need somewhere to stow that M240 and the Claymore mines!

They were very common in Europe during WW2, quite a cult following for them in Scandinavia still.
