Hi gents, am trying to remove my drivers side door handle to replace it, with no success. I have peeled back the rubber strip on the side of the door to gain access to the torx screw, unscrewed it as much as I can, and the key insertion part of the door handle, although now loose is refusing to budge.
Have put the blade part of my key in the barrel and moved it in different positions to no avail. Any ideas??

Don't know if this will help as it's for a CLK, but the design is going to be similar I would think. Click on the link, select Body, then select Disassembly, then select Door Handle and click on play for the video. The first part is to do with door card removal, but door handle removal instructions follow on.

Welcome to the C209 CLK-Class!

Thank very much for that. I have followed those steps but am struggling to remove the cylinder. Maybe I will have to apply more pressure, but it feels as though something is still holding it in place.

Thanks for the suggestion, but as already mentioned in the original post, have tried this too!

same as me

I was haveing the same problem ,as i was told to turn the key 1/4 of a turn clockwise for passengers side and anticlockwise .Have you tried the other way .? pull the key backwards and pull on the door handle at the same time this should pop the lock backwards and out .Dont give up keep working on it it will come out.

Thank you guys for all your responses. Finally got the barrel out, changed handle, tested keyless and all works! However, am struggling to get the barrel back in and aligned. It goes in but nothing happens when I turn the key in the barrel, as in door lock isn't functioning. Is there a 'knack' to getting the barrel pin to line up in the slot??
