And the compatability section says it will fit a W204. Does the one pictured look exactly the same as your one?

Well no.....that`s my question. I have the older mirror with the large clear cover and was wondering if I could just change the backing for the newer "2 finger" ones.

Can't answer your question but I know for certain there are two different sizes of mirror on W204's. Mine has the smaller one. That's because it's a Blue Efficiency model but other W204's might have them too.
