Hey Ho, me again, the drivers door mirror will adjust, but not fold, I can hear the mechanism working but no fold. Sometimes it will try to move, but that's 1 in 100. Can I repair it ? If not, how does it come off for replacement ? 2005 CLK A209 convertible, my book says fold it and remove the screws, but on mine, the cover wraps all the way round and no fittings are visible. Please help.

Hi you need to remove the mirror glass first,then you will see the screws holding the mirror body. Most likely you have broken wires, to remove the complete assembly the door panel has to come off to allow access to the wiring plug. They are a bit of a pain to work on.
