Hi all, wife's recently bought a 2009 C200 and I can't seem to download the phone book contacts from her iPhone to the car(paired the phone and can dial in/out through the cars steering wheel controls no problem),tried the usual google/you tube but to no avail-can anyone help please.

2011 E250 S212, the option on mine comes up on the iPhone to share contacts when it pairs with Comand but not in comand itself.
Do you not get the option on your phone when it pairs?
May be worth going into Comand, forgetting device, then pair again and look on phone for that option when it pairs

Hi,thanks for the reply, yes option comes up to share but doesn't download, system is pre command(no sat nav),tried deleting the phone and re pairing but still no luck!

The early Audio 20 systems couldn’t load Contacts from the phone directly over Bluetooth, you had to send the Address Book to the car as vCards (which the iPhone won’t allow you to do). That may be the issue?

Not sure what year the ability to read the phone's address book directly was introduced to the head unit, but I’m sure someone else will be along with that info soon.

Hi Phil, yes that sounds like the problem, thanks,Steve.

My 2010 C207 with Audio 20 could do it from iPhone so I would think your wife's car has the same system. There was certainly something on one of the menus on the car system to import contacts which it then did over Bluetooth but I no longer have the car so can’t check.

Hi,there is a menu on the system you can download contacts via but doesn't seem compatible with an iPhone.

How do you do this with vCards and what are vCards?

I think it means business cards?
Yup, different terminology, same thing.

Apple devices only allow you to send individual contacts, one by one, whereas other devices allow you to send the whole address book as a stream of vCards.
